The Family Room “Before” Photos

Here are a few shots of the family room in progress last summer. I thought it would be fun to dig them out so you could see how far we’ve come.

Here is the wall with the fireplace. This half of the room used to be about a foot lower than the rest of the room…very 60s!

July 2, 2010: Leveling the floor

You can see the new lighting that the Handy Hubby installed in this shot too. He is quite an amazing electrician!

August 7, 2010: The drywall came down

Here’s a fuzzy shot of the other side of the room.

August 7, 2010: Toy closet and bar area

Here’s a shot of the mudding and taping…the only part of the room that the Hubby didn’t do himself.

August 25, 2010: And the walls are up!

I worked on painting as soon as I possibly could! The color is Benjamin Moore’s Iceberg. I have to say that I usually use Behr paint for the cost savings, but painting with Ben is like spreading velvety butter on the walls. LOVE.

August 29, 2010: I primed and painted the ceiling and walls

You can see the durarock on the fireplace and the pretty blue subfloor…

September 4, 2010: Installing the subfloor

Apparently I don’t have any other “in progress” photos of the space, so without further ado…here’s the “After” again.
